Student Disability Resource Center: What Advisors Need to Know

There are over 4,000 students currently registered with the Student Disability Resource Center. A student's disability may impact their performance in the classroom, their course progression, their goals for graduation, and many other aspects of their academic career. This session will allow representatives from the Student Disability Resource Center to discuss common accommodations, the SDRC registration process, policies and procedures for implementing accommodations, and strategies for effectively supporting students with disabilities. 

Learning Outcomes:

  • Describe the purpose and function of the Student Disability Resource Center.
  • Describe the process for getting registered with the Student Disability Resource Center.
  • Understand and describe effective strategies for referring & connecting students to the SDRC.
  • Understand and describe effective strategies for advising and working with students with disabilities.
